David Franz Eden Edge Riesling Semillon 2020

A co-fermentation of Riesling (91%) from Mark Bartholomaus' Eden Valley High Eden Block Vineyards, and Semillon (9%) from John Schafer's Long Gully Road Vineyard. The grapes were grown and vinified with minimal intervention. The fruit was basket-pressed before a long, low-temperature fermentation followed by 5 months on lees.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose – Minerally limes and lemons underlaid with a light bready, yeast complexity.

Palate – Bold crisp yet rich structure of ripe lemon and lime curd with a dollop of sorbet. Firm and balanced acidity with a pleasing phenolic line over a full and delicious mid-palate. Lond on flavour yet light and lithe in the mouth. An excellent candidate for aging yet brilliant in the first flush of youth. Guaranteed to be a complex and rewarding drink!
