2013 12.5% Gift Box 75cl

2013 was a difficult vintage in Champagne. A cold and wet start to the year resulted in severely reduced yields as grapes failed to develop after flowering. Bunches that did develop however ripened more easily, receiving a greater share of the vine's energy, over a long growing season. A sunny September eventually came to the rescue and producers tended to pick later in the month to take advantage of this. The fruit from this vintage ultimately proved to be of a high quality, with good phenolic ripeness, if slightly higher than average acidity.
