Rully Montagne La Folie 2020 75cl

Delicious and excellent value chardonnay from Rully, an up and coming appellation in the Northern Chalonnais in Burgundy. Montagne La Folie is a small 2.5ha plot, with south-eastern exposure ensuring consistent ripening of the grapes. Vinification is carried out in 20% new oak barrels for 12 months which adds a layer of complexity and structure to the wines. On the nose ones finds citrus and stone fruits. This follows through onto the palate which is medium-bodied with almond, vanilla and a real mineral finish. Excellent winemaking at a great price from a pioneering female winemaker.
