Concentrated, textured and aromatic, with a delightfully complex stonefruit character on the nose and an oily weight on the palate, well balanced by a bright acidity - a divine pairing for goats cheese.

A pure expression of Bekaa Valley viticulture, this is a 50:50 blend of indigenous Lebanese varieties, Merweh and Obeidi.

The Merweh was picked from 100 year old vines from the Bsharreh mountains, at 1400m above sea level. These vines have been largely untended for two decades, resulting in low yields but a remarkable concentration of flavour. These vines grow amidst the famous old cedar trees of Mount Lebanon, depicted on the label, which provide a natural protection from fungal diseases. These wild vines ripen unevenly and the grapes were individually hand-picked only when perfectly ripe.

The Obeidi was picked from 50 year old vines on the hills of Zahleh at 1100m, trained using a pergola system to acheive optimal exposure to the sun and maximum ripeness.

The varieties were wild-fermented seperately in concrete tanks at a low temperature to preserve freshness and aromatics. The wines were then blended and briefly stabilised in stainless steel tanks before bottling.

Official Tasting Notes
This blend of Merweh and Obeidi is golden in colour, the nose has natural aromas of ripened grapes, apple skin and a mix of herbs and spices. Mineral and savoury on the palate, the wine shows notes of dired figs and fresh almonds on the finish.
