Domaine Georges Lignier Et Fils Morey-Saint-Denis Rouge 2018

A beautifully pure expression of the terroir of the Côte de Nuits village of Morey-Saint-Denis - This complex delight lends itself perfectly to similarly complex and delightful soft cheeses such as Brillat Savarin.

From a legendary Morey estate, now run by George Lignier's great grandson, Benoit, who, especially in warm vintages such as 2018, picks relatively early for freshness.

Pinot Noir from two parcels - "Les Crais" and "Clos Solon" - is destemmed and cold-macerated for 3 to 5 days before fermentation after which the wine is racked directly into 228L old oak barrels for 18 months of ageing prior to bottling.

White meats, poultry and creamier cheeses.

Staff Tasting Notes
This cuvée is enticingly aromatic, spry and showing a lovely broad spectrum of red fruit. Elegant, pure and long.

Official Tasting Notes
A steady red colour describes this wine. The bouquet features tremendous complexity, with in general the fruitier aromas prevailing during the earlier years before giving way to some of the meatier tones.
