Egly Ouriet Champagne Brut Grand Cru NV

Francis Egly’s calling card, and an astonishing expression of the house style of this brilliant Champagne grower.

The Brut Grand Cru is 70% Pinot Noir, and 30 % Chardonnay, with the majority of the fruit coming from Grand Cru sites in Ambonnay, and around 10% from Grand Crus in Bouzy and Verzenay. Vinified and aged in barrel (with a small proportion of new oak) before bottling and 50 months on lees prior to disgorgement in July 2019 with a low dosage of 2g/l.

Staff Tasting Notes
Very much Pinot driven, this is full-bodied, complex and broad, with a vibrant, clear line. Classic red apple, cherry, honey, pastry, nut, and floral notes are underpinned by bright citrus, penetrating acidity, and a clean chalky backbone.
