Glen Garioch is based in Old Meldrum, a part of Aberdeenshire that used to have a few more distilleries than it has now.

This is an 8 year old, single new oak cask. One of 316 bottles, we thought it was well balanced and fun.

Selected and bottled by our sister company Royal Mile Whiskies.

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – An up-front nose of vanilla ice cream, wood shavings, and a muddy earthiness reminiscent of a tidal estuary. With water sweeter notes emerge, with pear and chalky sweets (think Loveheart sweeties and Edinburgh rock).

Palate – A friendly palate of barley sugars, apple, earthy forest floor. The drying wood spice on the finish neatly wraps up a fun drinking malt. This takes a bit of water well and is an extremely pleasing balance of young malt and active wood.
