Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve

Presented by Ichiro Akuto, the head of Chichibu Distillery and one of Japans most celebrated blenders, this bottling is comprised of several single malts that have been vatted and aged in select bourbon casks before a finish in wine casks sourced from the Charentes region of France. These are called ovum casks, which hold 2000 litres, are shaped like giant eggs and impart an amazing complexity to the whisky.

Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is an elegant and rich pure malt whisky with notes of red berries and forest fruits along with candied citrus and white flowers. There is a slight peppery character on the palate with dark chocolate, ginger and red apple before a long and sustained oak spice finish.
