Laventura Rioja Viura 2021

Fruity, floral and elegant - A perfect wine for a sunny summer afternoon's sipping.

Winemaker, Bryan MacRobert, puts vineyard before cellar, farming organically, ploughing by mule and fermenting with native yeast.

This Viura is grown on limstone soils of the south-western slopes of the Sierra Cantabria in Rioja Alavesa, 500m above sea level. The fruit is gently pressed and racked into large, old French oak barrels for fermentation. The wine remains in these barrels for around a year.

Staff Tasting Notes
Pure and elegant with pear, white peach, floral and subtly biscuity notes and a mouth-watering acidity.

Official Tasting Notes
The vineyards are exposed to a cooling breeze from the north and soft sunshine that helps to ripen the grapes slowly retaining the tension in the wine. The wine is aged in large wooden vats for one year. It is a fresh refined example of the grape Viura.
