Bodegas Lustau East India Solera Cream

Rich, sweet and bursting with fig, raisin, stewed apple and burnt caramel - Great with anything from chocolate desserts to fruit tarts and it can even work as an interesting substitue for sweet vermouth in cocktails.

Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherries, both of which have an average age of 12 years are blended before transferring to a 45-cask solera for a further 3 years of ageing and fractional blending. This additional period of ageing is intended to simulate the long voyage by sea from Spain to the East Indies and the effect this would have on the wine.

Official Tasting Notes
Dark mahogany in colour with green-amber edge. It offers vibrant notes of maple syrup, brown sugar, shoe polish, raisin and chocolate beer nuts, all very well integrated. On the palate it is smooth and rich at the beginning, full of prune and burned oranges peel flavours. Provocative spicy notes appear just before its nuttiness and terrific acidity cuts through the sweetness. With a truly unforgettable finish.
