Maison Ginestet Classique Sauternes 2020

Rich and sweet yet beautifully fresh and balanced. Floral, with notes of apricot and bittersweet orange marmalade - a classic pairing with intense blue cheeses or fruit tarts.

Négociant, Maison Ginestet sourced the grapes for this wine from Graves, Bordeaux. A blend of Semillon (75%), Sauvignon Blanc (20%) and Muscadelle (5%) which have been dehydrated and concentrated by Botrytis cinera (Noble Rot) are picked by hand late in the vintage. The harvest tends to take 3 passes, with only the berries that have been optimally affected by Botrytis picked each pass.

The grapes are treated gently during the vinification process in order to preserve their delicate aromatics and primary fruit characteristics.

Official Tasting Notes
A classic botrytis nose, gently floral and honeyed with hints of citrus marmalade. The palate is rich and smooth with flavours of barley sugar and bittersweet mandarin.
