Mount Edward Pinot Noir 2020

Pure, intense berries with a hint of spice and a smooth and silky texture - Fruity enough to pair with game, yet delicate enough to be a great accompaniment to chicken or richer fish dishes.

Pinot Noir from some of the world's least arable vineyard sites. Crop levels and canopies have to be rigorously managed to acheive optimum ripeness. The juice is fermented in open-air vats by native yeast, with regular hand plunging. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak, 20% of it new, before a period if settling in tank and bottling without fining or filtration. Use of sulfites is minimised.

Official Tasting Notes
Beautiful aromatics; cherries and bright berry fruits mixed with some darker fruit notes plus hints of herb and spice. On the palate there is that same purity of fruit expression and a smooth and silky texture with just enough tannin to support the the depth and weight of the flavours. Not so much a big wine as possessing power; easily one of the better estate wines to come out of Mount Edward.
