Quinta do Soalheiro Alvarinho Classico 2022

Bright and vibrant but with a roundness and weight on the palate that is atypical of most vinho verde. Notes of ripe tropical and citrus fruits, white flowers, and a soft minerality towards the fresh, acidic finish - very versatile for pairing with rich fish and seafood dishes, mature cheeses or a range of Mediterranean mezze.

100% Alvarinho from Monçāo e Melgaço in the North of Vinho Verde, indeed, the northernmost wine region in Portugal. The microclimate of this region is such that the vines experiance a large diurnal range, and the grapes express an intense fruit character while retaining a moderate, balancing acidity.

The grapes are harvested by hand and once pressed, the must is clarified by low-temperature gravity sedimentation. The clarified juice is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its primary fruit characteristics, then aged on fine lees to impart a rounded mouthfeel.

Soalheiro Alvarinho has a bright, lemon-yellow colour. This wine is distinguished by its fresh and elegant fragrance, revealing the aromatic complexity of Alvarinho variety. The flavour has intense tropical and mineral notes that balance perfectly with the acidity and moderate alcohol content.
