Weingut Sepp Moser Gruner Veltliner Breiter Rain 2019

Complex and concentrated - an ideal accompaniment to rich seafood dishes.

An exquisite Gruner Veltliner from the low-yielding vineyard of Breiter Rain in Kremstal DAC. The grapes are de-stemmed and 80% of the fruit is fermented in stainless steel with the other 20% fermented in 500L Austrian oak barrels. The wine is then aged in a combination of 500L Austrian oak barrels and larger foudres, before returning to stainless steel vats for 6 months of lees ageing and some partial malolactic fermentation. The finished wine is bottled without filtration.

Official Tasting Notes
Impressively fine Gruner Veltliner from the low yielding Breiter Rain vineyard. An inviting and voluptuous nose with spicy fruit and hints of honeysuckle. Textural and weighty on the palate - slightly honeyed with smoky notes, stone fruit, fresh balancing acidity and a long, dry finish. This is a serious wine with an ageing potential of 8+ years.
