In most vintages, the estate Pinot Noir from this winery consists of two separate wines - 'Up the Hill' and 'Down the Hill'. For this vintage, the two parcels have been combined. The combined parcels were vinified with 25-30 days skin contact and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks. 21% of the batch was matured in new French oak barrels for 11 months in which it underwent malolactic fermentation by native bacteria. It was bottled without fining and only minimal filtration.

Staff Tasting Notes This distinctive vintage was produced using more whole-bunch pressing than usual, resulting in a wine with impressive energy - Pure cherry fruit and seam of vanilla and tomato leaf. Lovely open front palate and a long, spicy finish.
Official Tasting Notes A combination this year of ‘Up the Hill’ and ‘Down the Hill’ this Estate Pinot has layers of flavor and earthy, broody dark fruits together with mulled spice and cassis, that combine to create this fabulous and intriguing wine.
