Thistledown Fool on the Hill Grenache Mattschoss Vineyard Mengler Hill Eden Valley 2021

The grapes for this wine have been sourced from two tiny plots of almost dry grown bush-vine Grenache. They are also some of the highest vineyards in South Australia at 550m.

The name is a reference to this high and dry project.

Official Tasting Notes
The signature Thistledown lifted aromatics are present but the palate offers more sinew and spice than those from McLaren Vale. Textural, almost chewy but polished dark cherry, mineral and warm spices carry through to a finish of incredible length.
