Valenciso is an estate established in 1998 as a collaboration of two esteemed, and experienced, Rioja producers. The estate lies only 4km away from Haro at the very north-west of Rioja Alta with mainly higher altitude (for Rioja) sites leading to a strong Atlantic influence on their vineyards. They are believers of following sustainable practices and respecting tradition. This wine comes from 80 year old vines from which the grapes are fermented in stainless steel before spending 9 months in oak.
Food PairingThis can take big dishes, saffron risotto, patatas bravas, or strong salads with a mustardy dressing.
Staff Tasting Notes This is white Rioja. Expect white flowers, candied lemon, and a hint of smoke and wool on the nose. The palate is full, broad, and concentrated, a luscious coating of citrus, followed by nuts, stone fruits, and a hint of spice. Delicious.
