Villa Raiano Taurasi 2017

Rich and rustic, but with surprising precision - Enjoy a few glasses of this with copious amounts of salami finocchiona for a delightful evening.

100% Aglianico grown on the clay/chalk soils of the Castelfranci vineyard in DOCG Taurasi. The grapes are macerated and fermented in stainless steel, with daily pumping-over for 10-20 days, before 24 months of ageing in barrel and barrique.

Official Tasting Notes
Ripe black fruits and sour cherry on the nose with spicy, smoky, and meaty notes. Intense and finely tuned on the palate with layers of spicy black fruits, liquorice and dark chocolate. With ripe tannins, and dry, savoury and lightly rustic notes, yet has deceptive finesse. This should happily keep for 10-15 years but is perfectly accessible now.
