Waterford Ballykilcavan 1.2

Waterford Distillery is one of the most exciting new distilleries in Ireland, and there have been quite a few over the past few years. They wanted to show the quality of the barley that is grown locally, and are committed to this focus on provenance. Distilled in 2016, this is 100% malted Taberna barley whiskey, grown on the Ballykilcavan farm in County Laois by Walsh-Kemmis. This is the 2nd release of this edition.

Aged in American oak, French oak, and fortified wine oak. 

Official Tasting Notes
A yellow gold appearance with heavy oils. Red grapes on the nose with tilled earth and dried fruit. An initial oily mouthfeel with white pepper, apricots, spices and toffee. Adry oily finish with spice, chocolate, malt that lasts.
